March 2020 Business Roundup
From the first day I started freelancing, I’ve taken time each month to review my business and goals. It’s become a bit of a ritual for me as I fill out my spreadsheets. This year I’ve also built Kat Horrock’s Goal Setting Work into my little routine. It’s been an absolute dream for keeping me accountable to my big goals.
Now, with some extra time on my hands following the outbreak of coronavirus here in the UK, I’ve decided to try something a little different on my blog.
I’ve seen some amazing year or month reviews on some of my favourite blogs. And when I sat down to write this month’s Roundup in my notebook, I thought why not use my blog to write this up?
So, without further ado, here’s the first in my series of Monthly Business Roundups.
Life Update
Coronavirus overwhelm
I’m sure I’m not the only one in saying that March has been a turbulent and unpredictable month both personally and in business. I just wanted to take a moment to say I’m sending all my best wishes, love and support to you and your families. Stay safe and take care.
Taking a group coaching programme
I’ve struggled with mental health in the past and now more than ever I need to look after myself. After all, I am my business so it’s relying on me to be showing up as the best version of myself! With this in mind, I’m taking Kat Horrock’s Passion and Purpose Group Coaching to keep me ticking over my goals and focused on looking after me. I’ve never taken anything as a group before - it’s always been 1:1 - so I’m looking forward to seeing how this goes. I’ve got high hopes!
Business Update
My new freebie
This month I set a goal to update my opt in. I’ve added in a new one - my Small Business Start Up Checklist with 14 steps to getting set up with your dream business. I set aside some time to work on the content, design the PDF and set it up on my website.
It’s only been live a week or so but you guys are absolutely loving it! Big, big thanks to everyone who has signed up to get their hands on a copy.
Moved to Flodesk
If you’re looking for an easy to use yet high functioning email host, Flodesk is the one. It costs $39 a month but you get A LOT. How does unlimited subscribers, emails and easy to use workflows sound? Amazing, right. I could talk about how Flodesk could transform your business all day long - I can feel a blog post coming along!
If you’re interested in making the jump onto Flodesk, I’ve got an affiliate code which gets you a whopping 50% off the price tag. And that’s not just the first month, it’s locked in forever. Click here or use code ‘eleanorstones’ to get your 50% discount today.
Client launches and more projects
As always, I’ve had my head down working on client projects. It’s the bread and butter of what I do and I LOVE it! We’ve even launched a couple over the last 4 weeks and I’m so excited to see them out in the world!
I’ve added Content Queen Mariah’s to my portfolio for you to take a look at. We went for a fun and girly yet clean and simple look for it. Lot’s of custom code but SO worth it. Take a look here to see for yourself.
Quote of the month
“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”
- Eleanor Roosevelt

Books Read
Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams
The Comparison Cure by Lucy Sheridan
You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero (I’m re-reading this one as it gave me such a boost when I first read it about 6 months ago. I’d highly recommend it if you’ve not read it before. You’ll be bouncing off the walls with how amazing you are at the end of it!)
Goals for next Month
Take time out for myself every evening and at the weekends. We’re living through a worldwide crisis and this means sometimes things can feel difficult. This will be a difficult one for me but I’m committing to switching off when work is over to look after myself. I’ve got a list of things I’m planning on doing which you can check out here. Whilst I don’t think I’ll get through the whole list, I like having a list that I can dip into and see where my mood takes me.
I’m committing to doing a session of Yoga every day in April. I notice such a boost in my mood even when I just roll out the mat for as little as 10 minutes.
Launch some exciting business projects. Some of these have been bubbling away for a long time and now feels like to perfect time to launch. Keep an eye out for more information soon!
Continue to serve my clients and audience during this difficult time. My biggest work priority is to support this community. Whether that’s hopping on a call with a client or producing regular content on this blog and my Instagram, I’m open to being flexible at serving my audience best.
